Across India’s region around national parks, wildlife sanctuaries, and reserve forests,  tribal and indigenous families remain caught in a fragile livelihood cycle. Forest cover continues to shrink, yet dependence on it persists. Income drawn from extraction — timber, non-timber forest produce, silk cocoons — remains seasonal and uncertain. With limited steady alternatives, economic vulnerability deepens and ecological pressure increases.

This is the problem we exist to address.

Over time, we have learned that breaking this cycle requires more than introducing activities. It requires building systems that can sustain alternatives. AVACreations deliberately works to strengthen the structures that make them viable. With a more system-led approach we have been investing in stronger internal teams and clearer roles, formalising governance within producer groups, strengthening quality and compliance standards, building reliable data systems, and deepening market linkages that reduce dependence on isolated buyers. These are not visible transformations, but they are the conditions that allow alternative livelihoods to endure.

Our work continues to align with government frameworks and institutional partnerships, even as we strengthen our own internal capacities to ensure continuity and long-term resilience. Growth, for us, is no longer measured only by scale, but by how well the systems we build can hold. What remains non-negotiable is our purpose — to enable steady, dignified livelihood pathways that reduce forest pressure while strengthening community stability.
